Faithful Is the One Who Promised II — The Weight of Seasons

Epilogue

“And of the sons of Isachar who were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Isreal ought to do …

- 1 Chronicles 12:32

And Abraham slept beneath the stars,

While God spoke history into his hearing.

A smoking furnace.

A burning lamp.

A covenant walking between sacrifice.

And the Lord said:

“Your children shall be strangers in a land not theirs…

They shall serve them.

They shall be afflicted four hundred years.

But afterward, I will bring them out.”

Four hundred years.

A number spoken by Eternity itself.

Yet when the story unfolded in time,

Israel did not leave in four hundred years.

But four hundred and thirty.

And men began to wonder in silence:

“Did Heaven miscalculate?”

You see,

The God who hangs galaxies like lanterns

Does not lose count.

The One who measures oceans in His palm

Does not forget clocks.

The delay was never proof that God had failed.

It was proof that men do not always understand seasons.

For promises are not only carried by prophecy —

They are carried by alignment.

There are things Heaven has spoken

That Earth has not yet positioned itself to receive.

And so generations suffered beneath Egypt

While destiny searched for a voice.

For sometimes the tragedy is not that God is silent —

But that no man is listening.

The hour of deliverance may arrive,

Yet if no intercessor stands between Heaven and Earth,

The moment lingers like rain above closed soil.

But God remembers.

He always remembers.

And when men forget what was written,

He raises burdened hearts to seek again.

Daniel understood this mystery.

He read the writings of Jeremiah

And discovered that captivity had an expiry date.

Seventy years were ending.

Yet instead of folding his arms and saying,

“Well, if God said it, it will happen automatically,”

He fell on his face.

With fasting.

With ashes.

With prayer.

Because prophetic timing still demands partnership.

And perhaps Moses was another lesson entirely.

A deliverer before his season.

He felt the fire early.

Knew, somehow, that Egypt was not supposed to hold his people forever.

But revelation without timing

Can become destruction.

So he killed an Egyptian

Thinking purpose could be forced.

But Heaven does not bless every sincere action.

Some things can be right in calling,

Yet wrong in season.

For destiny is not only about what you do.

It is also about when.

And many have wounded themselves

Trying to harvest fruit that was still learning how to grow.

Even Satan understands this principle.

That is why he approached Jesus in the wilderness

Offering Him things the Father already intended to give Him.

Authority.

Kingdoms.

Influence.

But without process.

Without suffering.

Without the Cross.

“Why wait?” the serpent whispered.

“Why bleed?

Why endure seasons?

Take the crown now.”

But premature elevation is one of Hell’s oldest traps.

For what arrives before its season

Often destroys the man who receives it.

Had Jesus accepted the shortcut,

There would be no disciples shaped by His patience.

No apostles forged by His teachings.

No upper room.

No Pentecost.

No Cross.

No resurrection.

Only power without redemption.

And many today are exhausted

Not because God denied them,

But because they are throwing stones at unripe fruit.

Trying to force doors

That wisdom said should mature naturally.

Trying to become seen

Before Heaven has finished building them in secret.

But seasons have mercy hidden inside them.

A mango before its season

Must be fought for.

But when the appointed time arrives,

Fruit falls freely.

What was once struggle for

Becomes overflow.

And even Jesus Himself

Had to be hidden for a time.

For there was a season

When visibility would have killed Him.

So, Heaven concealed the child

Until Herod died.

God watched history carefully.

And when the danger passed,

He spoke again:

“Now… bring the boy out.”

Because the God of promise

Is also the God of timing.

And faithful is not merely the One who spoke —

Faithful is the One

Who knows when a thing must happen.

Epitaph

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

Who has lavished upon us treasures unseen—

Mercies stored in heavenly places,

Promises wrapped in eternity,

And crowns no moth can touch.

Yet here we stand—

Creatures of dust and breath,

Walking roads that blister the feet,

Living beneath skies that still demand bread, shelter, healing, and peace.

For though our spirits long for heaven,

Our bodies still wake to earthly hunger.

And while angels may rejoice in invisible riches,

Men still kneel praying for rain upon dry ground.

So Lord,

Let the blessings above

Find their echo below.

Let heavenly favor become daily provision.

Let grace become strength for weary hands.

Let peace become food on the table,

Light in the home,

And hope for tomorrow.”
